Why Were There so Few People Playing Community Servers?

Community servers had low player counts during CS2's early release due to missing features.

The main reasons were:

  • Limited plugin support in Source 2 engine
  • Incomplete server browser interface
  • Missing popular gamemodes and custom maps
  • Server owners waiting for better modding tools

Currently, CS2 community servers are active again.

Our list shows 25,000+ servers with various gamemodes. Players can now enjoy Retake, Surf, KZ, Practice, and other custom modes.
